Exotic animal Rescue at North Georgia Zoo

North Georgia Zoo is home to a variety of animal including many  Rescued and Unwanted Exotic Animals.  North Georgia Zoo and Farm are part of an exotic animal rescue network.  We are aware that working as a group is the key to successful placement of unwanted, rescued  and confiscated animals.  The goal is to network and work as a team to ensure placement of all rescued exotics.  We recognized that being the only exotic animal rescue facility is not the best option for the animals.  We are glad to see that their are several exotic animal rescue facilities right here in Georgia. We also recognize that not all rescues come from bad homes.  In some cases the owners simply have to move,  have hit hard times,  have changes in their lives that cause them to have to re-home their animals.  The goal of a Georgia Exotic Animal Rescue network  is to place that animal in the best environment possible.  Animals that are used to being handled and traveling would do best in a program that focuses on outreach such as Wildlife Wonders- Zoo To You.  (http://www.wildlifewonders.org)   The outreach division of North Georgia.  Animals that are shy , skittish or have a history of abuse would best be placed in a facility that visitors are not allowed to visit or placed in a quiet area  for a period of time to allow the gradual acceptance of people again.  Animals that are used to being around crowds would best be placed on display for educational purposes.  This can be done at a variety of different zoos in Georgia.

If you have an exotic animal that needs placement.  We would be happy to assist you.  We strive to find the best possible placement for that animal.  North Georgia Zoo offers the perfect environment for many rescued and unwanted exotic animals.  In many case's we are able to house the animals here but if we are not.  We will help you  find the perfect placement for the animal.   The exotic animal rescue network is vital to ensuring animals received the  best care and life they can possible receive.

Lotsee (Pictured above) was one of our rescued Wolf hybrids. Lotsee was simply a victim of a misled idea of what it would be like to have a wolf living indoors with you. After Lotsee tore out walls, furniture and plumbing. The realization that wolves do not make good pets encourage the original owners to find a proper place for Lotsee and that was North Georgia Zoo.Lotsee has been with us for over 10 years and is growing old gracefully. She gets lots of tender loving care!
North Georgia Zoo is also a wildlife preserve that provides exotic animal rescue such as pictured above!

Zoological facilities can many times play a variety of roles. Some of these
roles include: Education, Conservation,  Wildlife Preserve, Park, Outreach, Farm
and Rescue. Each zoo has it's own unique nitch and contributes in a variety of
ways. North Georgia Zoo works with zoological facilities from around the world
ensuring the best possible future for different animal species.  The goal of North Georgia zoo is to connect people and animals to ensure a great  future for both.   We always strive to give God the Glory in all we do and recognize God as the Creator of all things and NGZ's purpose is  to care for, educate and teach respect about all living things placed in our care.
