Spring hire availability for seasonal tour guides, ticket sales, and tractor drivers! You must have good customer services, organization skills, detail oriented, self-motivated to learn and can get excited about what the zoo is all about and what we offer. OPEN
Exotic Animal Curator: The curator would work closely with the Director of Animal Care and the other members of the zoos leadership staff. This position oversees the Exotic Animal Care department of the North Georgia Zoo. It is a working position that also supervises animal keepers, carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with our policies and USDA regulations. A strong animal care background is required along with previous supervisory experience. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Zookeeper Level 1: We are looking for a level 1 keeper who is ready to care for a variety of animals, anything from pigeons to small exotic mammals. Will be assisting with care taking of a variety of level one animals depending on need. Skills required are animal husbandry knowledge, experience caring for animals previously, ability to lift 50lbs, and have a strong work ethic. Requires attention to detail. Need excellent communication and documentation skills. OPEN
Commissary Keeper: Preparing diets for a variety of species and helping keepers where needed. You will be responsible for our food prep area and maintain organization and cleanliness. Knife skills are a must along with being a quick worker and the ability to multitask. 20-25 hours housing is available.Looking for a hard working, self motivated, reliable individual that is on board with our core values, mission and purpose statement. Must be a quick learner, Work well as team or alone. Strive to constantly grow and learn and be effective in the job and goals laid out. Responsibilities include:Preparing the daily diets including cutting up the fruits, veggies and butchering as needed. Sorting and organizing incoming produce, food and supplies. Weekly shopping trips to pick up the supplies for diet preparation, zoo etc. Responsible to keep prep area neat and organized. Zoo keeping as needed along with diet preparation for all the animals. Assisting Keepers as needed Daily responsibilities as laid out for you. Must have a basic understanding of food nutrition or willing to do research and learn.Must be comfortable with a lot of cutting and chopping of food. (use a knife, cutter and food prep supplies well) Must be able to follow directions well, Must be able to work as a team and communicate with keepers their needs and diet changes etc Must be self motivated, reliable, able to set goals and move quickly. General Labor: Looking for a person who is self-sufficient to do projects around the Zoo. Able to follow instructions, work well with people and follow through with task. This includes painting, repairs, construction, tractor work etc. Must have own set of basic tools and have prior experience. OPEN
Zookeeper and educator- Reptiles must have experience with reptiles, amphibians and insects. Requires good education skills, attention to details and comfortable handling reptiles. OPEN
Assistant Visitor Experience: Good with people, able to multitask, able to run a register. Responsible for assisting with scheduling opening and closing procedure as well as all things guest experience including but not limited to being able to share about the options available at the zoo, Must be observant, detailed and organized . This area includes gift shop inventory and organization along with ensuring the area is guest ready. Will also be assisting with special events and activities and preparing for those. Previous customer service experience is required. . OPEN
Animal Educator traveling programs and onsite tour guide and encounters (education department): Job includes but not limited to traveling with a variety of animals to schools, parties, events, fairs, production work and more. Willing to train to do Programs, Displays, Stage shows and petting zoos. Must be great with people, quick learner, have basic experience handling a variety of animals, have basic knowledge of animal training and care, must be able to present animal facts correctly in a fun and educational way to a variety of ages and audiences. Public speaking skills important. And well. Must be able to be flexible, work weekends and some early mornings and late nights. Previous Animal Care, education or animal handling is needed. Livestock Assistant: Responsible to assist in all aspects of the livestock care. Animals include but not limited to camels, buffalo, mini pigs, goats, ponies and more. Responsibilities will include feeding, watering, medication, tracking and assisting with breeding program, records, assisting in sales, assisting in tours, assisting with birthing and much more. A great opportunity to learn and get increased pay with experience. Must have at least 1-2 year prior experience working with livestock. OPEN
Carnivore Keeper Responsible for care of Wolves, Small cats and other species. Must be able to butcher and feed out meat. Must have zoo keeping experience prefer some carnivore handling or keeping experience. FILLED
Office Assistant/ Secretary. 3 -5 days a week 9-2 or 10-3. (Saturdays and some Sunday afternoons) We can be flexible. Looking for someone that can do 3-5 days a week. Must be good on the phone, great with people, very detail oriented, self-motivated to learn and can get excited about what the zoo is all about and what we offer. Onsite & Mobile Petting Zoo Help & Part time livestock help: Assist in farm animal area keeping the area clean for visitors and animals fed and watered. Helping with animal encounters, bottle feeding when necessary. Also train to do traveling petting zoos. Help with the livestock programs when open. Assist in training of the livestock. Trailer driving experience a plus. Part - Time and Full time - OPEN
Part time office assistant. Must be computer literate and have customer service experience. Need someone answering phone, taking messages, doing office type work, assisting with laundry, cleaning when slow, filing, doing inventory etc. Need to have great customer service skills, quick learner, able to answer questions about what the zoo offers and know how to navigate our websites etc. OPEN
Marketing: Must have experience with Microsoft office. Experience creating banners, flyers a plus. Experience with social media and constant contact a plus. Experience with photo and editing software a plus. May be willing to train also. Part time approx. 10-20 hrs. a week. This job includes but not limited to assisting with social media, sending out promotions, sending out emails, scheduling campaigns and flyers to be sent out for upcoming events and promotions. Keeping calendars updated and refreshed, keeping good data base and records of all things marketing. OPEN
