5/26/2020

Due to the enormous popularity of the North Georgia Wildlife Park “Social Distancing Drive Thru Zoo”, the Wildlife Park will continue to offer this unique animal encounter, along with a few upgrades to the experience. First, the experience will now be named “North Georgia Safari Drive Thru”. As you drive through the park, it will have the look and “feel” of an African safari. New animals have been added to the route, which includes zebras, ostrich, water buffalo, hornbills, camels, emus and warthogs. Take your time driving through the safari and snap all the photos you like!

Cost for the Safari Drive Thru is only $5/person. You can add on a “Camel Experience” for an additional $10/person. This allows you to stop midway through the drive thru and feed and pet our camels! For an additional cost of $40/car with up to 4 passengers (plus $10/person for each additional passenger), you can add on a “Small Animal Experience”, where an animal educator will bring three small animals (such as a chinchilla, hedgehog or snake) right to your car so that you can view them up close. Also, add on a “Sloth Meet & Greet” for $200/car with up to two passengers (plus $100/person for each additional passenger), and Hope Bennett, co-owner and director of North Georgia Wildlife Park will personally introduce you to Noelle, our youngest sloth. You will quickly fall in love with this wonderful animal and learn all about sloths.

You can reserve your North Georgia Safari Drive Thru experience at https://www.northgeorgiazoo.com/safari-drive-thru.html , or you can pay in person at the entrance of the drive thru (cash only). North Georgia Safari Drive Thru is a part of North Georgia Wildlife Park & Zoo. It is located at 2912 Paradise Valley Road Cleveland, GA.

LOTS OF SMILES AT NORTH GEORGIA WILDLIFE PARK & ZOO

When we began offering our “Social Distancing Drive Thru Zoo” experience at North Georgia Wildlife Park & Zoo, we really did not know how people would respond. We have been overwhelmed buy your response!
Literally thousands of families have driven through our zoo over the past two weeks, and we have received so many generous contributions to help us with the ongoing costs of operating the zoo and feeding our animals.

Perhaps the most gratifying thing for us has been the comments we have received. Our guests have told us over and over, “Thank you for doing this! Thank you for providing a safe experience for our children. It’s so nice to be able to get out of the house and do something fun, while still practicing social distancing.”

But the best thing has been the smiles on the faces of the children! Their excitement at seeing the animals has made the “Drive Thru Zoo” worth all the time and effort.

So, thank you to our zoo family, friends and community for your continual support. We love you all and will continue to pray for you during the coming days.

THE WOLF PUPPIES ARE HERE! THE WOLF PUPPIES ARE HERE!

Chloe and Bane Wolf, two of the resident timber wolves of the North Georgia Zoo in Cleveland, GA, are proud to announce the birth of sextuplets! The six beautiful pups are looking for names – please feel free to send us your suggestions!

Chloe is a first-time mom, and she is very excited! Although, she admits that having six puppies is a little daunting, she is confident that with the help of the zookeepers, she will be just fine.

Wolves usually have one litter of pups each year, ranging from four to six pups. At birth the pups weigh about one pound. The newborns are blind and deaf and depend upon their mother for warmth. In about two weeks, their eyes open, and in three weeks, they emerge from the den and begin to explore their world.

Wolves are among the most majestic creatures at the zoo, but they are only one of almost 100 different species of animals that call North Georgia Zoo home.
The zoo is located at 2912 Paradise Valley Road, Cleveland, GA, 30528. Visit www.northgeorgiazoo.com for more info and to make reservations.

Picture
North Georgia Zoo in Cleveland, GA is offering the perfect way to have a fun, family experience while still practicing social distancing. Join us Thursday-Sunday May 7th-10th from 10a-5p. Enjoy the “Social Distancing Drive Through Zoo” experience!

Drive through the “other side” of the zoo, where, from the comfort of your car you can see zebras, camels, water buffalo, wart hogs, llamas, etc., as well as farm animals like sheep and goats. In fact, you will see over 80 animals, and you never have to leave your car! You will also be able to purchase food for the animals, which you can toss to them from your car window.

There is no charge for the “Drive Through”, but donations are appreciated. Also, the drive is fairly bumpy, and there are two creek crossings, so vehicles that have a low clearance are not recommended. It is also asked that you leave your own pets at home for this experience.
North Georgia Zoo, like so many other private businesses, has been stretched by the current economic crisis brought on by COVID-19. Your gifts and donations will be used to feed the 400 animals who call the zoo their home.
No reservations are needed for the “Drive Through”, so jump in your car and come for a visit! North Georgia Zoo is located at 2912 Paradise Valley Road, Cleveland, GA 30528. Visit their website at www.northgeorgiazoo.com.
North Georgia Zoo is NOT a 501c3 tax-exempt organization, and contributions/donations are NOT tax deductible
